12.20 Discussion with Hernan: how to raise money for the GC house? He has let go of acquiring a particular building in Buenos Aires, an ideal centre for activities there. It comes down to this: if you see the need, it must be addressed personally. And Hernan lives in Kiel.
Five ways of raising money:
1. A benefactor;
2. Undertaking specific pieces of work on behalf of the project;
3. Selling stuff;
4. Donations;
5. Tithing.
Under the heading of selling stuff: for me, this comes down to selling my guitars.
There is also the notion of sacrifice. Nothing of value becomes possible without sacrifice. So, to realise a GC House in Bredonborough, England, sacrifice is not only inevitable, it is necessary. But only to those who feel that necessity.
The future opens for some, the future closes for others, in the same moment.

The taxi driver was not a happy bunny: he said nothing, while emanating unpleasantness & negativity. I found myself keenly anticipating the escape of my person from within the sphere of his personal presence & broadcasting-zone. Ever wonder why people seem to avoid our company, when we’re not saying or doing anything (we assume)? It’s because our emanations are not nice; because we are thinking not-nice thoughts; and feeling not-nice feelings; these have physiological consequences; part of which is that we smell bad; eg negativity smells bitter.

The soundcheck made very difficult by the young man on the monitor desk. He lacked the necessary competence & was unable to handle 11 inputs. After 50 minutes of going nowhere, an older man was asked to take over: all done in 10 minutes.

A good performance with an exceptionally supportive audience: the goodwill was tangible onstage. But there are, almost always, one or two jerks who piss in the village well. Like, the camera at the beginning of the first encore. What a pity. This behaviour is usually justified by I just couldn’t help myself! or I had to do it! This is a dangerous line of argument. If we are unable to accept responsibility for our own behaviour, the tendency is for external authority to impose rules of conduct. Security at performances is not a subtle instrument, not conducive to developing the artist-performer relationship.
